Anthony J. Amenta earned his bachelor of architecture degree in 1977 from Notre Dame University. He has headed Amenta/Emma Architects in Hartford since its inception in 1985.

Among the projects he has been involved with are the new Fine and Performing Arts Center at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Blue Black Square in West Hartford, and renovations of The Hartford Life Company Corporate Headquarters in Simsbury. Others include the technology classroom building at Naugatuck Community College in Waterbury, the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, and the interior design of Shipman & Goodwin LLP in Hartford.

Mr. Amenta has lectured regionally and nationally on the planning of new projects. He is a member of the Design Committee of the AIA Connecticut and a Trustee for the Connecticut Opera.

He has previously served as a chairman of the West Hartford Design Review Board and as a member of the West Hartford Housing Authority.
