Ted DeSantos, P.E., PTOE

A 1994 graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth, Ted DeSantos a leader in the Connecticut traffic engineering industry. He has managed large transportation projects for the Connecticut Department of Transportation, regional planning agencies, and Connecticut municipalities. Most notably, he designed a roundabout in New London that was the first roundabout in Connecticut.
Mr. DeSantos has a broad range of experience in traffic and transportation engineering including transportation planning, traffic impact, signal system design, traffic calming, highway design, permitting and State Traffic Commission coordination. He has worked extensively in the private sector in support of master planning, site development, and traffic impact assessment, and implementation of roadway improvements
He is an associate and past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), and has also held the position of vice president and chapter secretary. He has presented at the District ITE conference on several occasions and has sat for expert panel discussions regarding roundabouts and smart growth. He is also a member of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Congress for New Urbanism.
Mr. DeSantos is one of only a handful of certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineers (PTOE) based in Connecticut. |
