Robert E. Swain serves as architectural project manager and designer for various large-scale commercial, educational and institutional clients of Amenta/Emma Architects. He earned his bachelor of architecture degree in 1987 from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Projects he has worked on include the Connecticut Convention Center, the University of Connecticut Co-op (bookstore) Building; a mixed-use retail / office building in Danbury; the St. Patrick – St. Anthony Parish Center in downtown Hartford; local and national projects for The Hartford (including the renovation of the Hartford Life Building in Simsbury); and the relocation and renovation of the Hartford law firm of Shipman & Goodwin,
Prior to joining Amenta/Emma Architects in 1996, Mr. Swain served as a project architect for DuBose Associates where his design projects included a new dormitory for the Loomis-Chaffee School, a new library for Eastern Connecticut State University, a “swing space” building for Southern Connecticut State University and a major interior renovation/addition project for Phoenix Home Life in Hartford.
Previous to his experience with Dubose, Mr. Swain was employed by C.J. Lawler Associates where he was involved in educational projects and by Peter Marino Associates in New York City where he assisted with residential and retail projects. |
