Michael J. Wallwork, P.E. Michael Wallwork has more than 33 years of experience in traffic engineering, road construction, transportation design, and traffic calming. He has developed a set of principles for effective techniques on roundabout and traffic calming operations. These principles were instrumental in the design of the double, connected roundabout proposed for Route 10. He began work on traffic calming operations in the early 1970s in his native Australia. He has been instrumental in the design and promotion of roundabouts as a way to calm traffic and increase vehicular safety. Since 1988, he has prepared traffic-calming concept plans and roundabout designs in Montana, Delaware, Florida, Colorado, Hawaii, Missouri, Kansas, Arizona, Washington State, California, South Carolina, Florida, as well as in Australia, Cayman Islands, Canada and India. Michael is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Congress for New Urbanism. |
